It's Been Awhile

It's been sometime since I've been able to smile,

without faking it.

It's been sometime since I've heard those words,

and believed them.

It's been awhile since I've cried,

without being sad.

It's been awhile since I've been held,

and not turned away.

It's been too long since any of this has occured,

until today.
